I grew up in a landlocked state.  Landlocked by over 1,000 miles.  I saw the ocean for the first time when I was 13, and I was one of only a few people in my class to have been to a coast when we graduated from high school.  Perhaps this is why bodies of water are so fascinating to me.  I love the water, and I love swimming (10 years on swim team + lifeguarding).  I particularly love skinny dipping, but am too chicken to do it anywhere other than a backyard pool with a high fence and no lights.  Which is probably how these photos were created. They are so gorgeous -the saturated colors, the suspension, the way the water diffuses the figures – it is all beautiful.

These images are by photographer Christy Rogers they are part of her Odyssey series and are on display at the Honolulu Academy of Arts through October 12th.   Simply stunning.
